EDNA VAZQUEZ

Edna Vazquez is a fearless singer, songwriter, composer, and guitarist whose powerful voice and musical talent transcend the boundaries of language to engage and uplift her audience. She is a creative musical artist with a vocal range that allows her to paint seamlessly with her original material, an intersection of Mexican Tradicional, rock, pop and other genres. Edna’s passion for music and performance grew from her bicultural roots and, with songs deeply rooted in universal human emotion, she has traveled far and wide spreading her message of light, love and cultural healing.

Vazquez has grown as a musical artist and collaborator over the last years touring with Pink Martini, Solo performances currently.

She led her own band projects in the past Edna Vazquez Quartet, then became a Quintet, Rock Band No Passengers, and the latest, the Edna Vazquez Band. Vazquez also participated in the Latin Grammy’s with the all female mariachi fusion band from New York City, Latin Grammy 2017 winners, Flor de Toloache and accompanying Natalia Lafourcade that night. 

In 2022, she participated in two great events, one in Canto en Resistencia (Power to the People!) in LAPhill with Davendra Banhardt, Ile, Silvana Estrada, Rodrigo Amarante, Jorge Glem, and conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. The other performance was at The Hollywood Bowl with the acclaimed pianist Lang Lang and the LAPhill, performing DESTINO (1946) A film Collaboration between Salvador Dalí and Walt Disney.

Edna Vázquez is currently expanding as a world class musician with the acclaimed ‘Little Big Band” Pink Martini and interactions with Symphonies  from all over the USA, and the world, such as (France, Grece, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Budapest, London, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Israel, Canada, and Mexico) and as a Soloist.

Edna Vázquez es una cantautora, compositora y guitarrista cuya poderosa voz y talento musical trascienden los límites del lenguaje para atraer y animar a su audiencia. Vazquez, es una artista musical creativa con un rango vocal que le permite pintar a la perfección con su material original, una intersección de Tradicional Regional Mexicano, rock, y otros géneros musicales. La pasión de Edna por la música y la actuación surgió de sus raíces biculturales y, con canciones profundamente arraigadas en la emoción humana universal, ha viajado por todas partes del mundo difundiendo su mensaje de luz, amor y sanación cultural.

Vázquez ha crecido como artista musical y colaboradora en los últimos años de gira con Pink Martini, lideró sus bandas de Edna Vazquez y su Cuarteto, después convertido en Quinteto, banda de rock No Passengers y su última banda ‘The Edna Vazquez Band‘. Tuvo incursión y actuación con el mariachi femenil, banda de fusión de la ciudad de Nueva York y ganadoras del Latin Grammy 2017, Flor de Toloache, con quienes participó en la noche de los Latin Grammys en el 2017 en el MGM Grand de Las Vegas, acompañando en el requinto a Natalia Lafourcade en su canción “Hermosa Mexicana”.

En el 2022 participó en dos grandes eventos como solista, uno en Canto en Resistencia (Power to the People!) en LAPhill, con Devendra Banhart, Ile, Silvana Estrada, Rodrigo Amarante, Jorge Glem, evento conducido por Gustavo Dudamel y la Filarmónica de Los Ángeles, CA. La otra presentación fue en The Hollywood Bowl con el aclamado pianista Lang Lang y LAPhill (La Filarmónica de Los Ángeles, CA), interpretando DESTINO (1946) Un filme colaboración entre Salvador Dalí y Walt Disney. 

En la actualidad Vázquez se encuentra viajando y expandiéndose con presentaciones con la internacional y aclamada mini orquesta Pink Martini, en ocasiones acompañados con Sinfónicas y Filarmónicas en los EEUU y el mundo (Francia, Rumanía, Grecia, Italia, Alemania, Turquía, Budapest, Londres, España, Suiza, Bélgica, Suecia, Finlandia, Israel, Canadá y México) Y como Solista.
